ARTIST'S STATEMENT
The 'Forever Bloom' series serves as an experimental exploration, artfully depicting the elusive stages of navigating the tumultuous sea of emotions during the COVID era through captivating visuals. This project deliberately selects flowers as its focal point, reminiscent of a recurring motif in classical art, while infusing a contemporary, vivid, and surreal palette to resonate with the sensibilities of our generation. The choice of the flower takes on a metaphorical role, symbolizing the delicate state of human mental health, with the shimmering silver tinsel serving as a poignant representation of stress.
Comprising three compelling images, this series commences with the first, where the silver tassels atop the flowers represent the widespread stress experienced during the pandemic. In the second image, the silver tinsel has disappeared, symbolizing a flourishing mental state and portrayed by a fully bloomed flower, marking an improvement in mental health. Yet, it does not stop there. As individuals harness their inner strength to combat distress and safeguard their mental well-being, the flowers bloom once more, even stronger. The backdrop transitions to a soothing pink, embodying the joy that awaits when we liberate ourselves from stress.
The deliberate choice of flowers and composition pays homage to classical art, seamlessly interwoven with contemporary aesthetics. The primary objective is to communicate the intense and challenging emotional landscape brought on by the pandemic, all the while encapsulating it within visually alluring compositions. The aim is to inspire a heightened awareness of mental health and the critical need for its continuous vigilance in the pursuit of overall well-being.
